War has engulfed the kingdom of Myrtana. Orcish hordes have invaded human territory, forcing the king to demand vast amounts of ore to forge weapons for his army to stand against the threat. In these dire times, anyone who breaks the law is sentenced to serve in the colossal penal colony of Khorinis, tasked with mining the much-needed ore.

The entire area, ominously called "the Colony", is encased in a magical barrier. This sphere, spanning two kilometers in diameter, seals off the penal colony from the outside world. While the barrier allows entry from the outside, escape is impossible once inside. However, this barrier proved to be a double-edged sword. The prisoners seized the opportunity to revolt, dividing the Colony into three rival factions. The king, unable to simply demand ore, was forced into negotiations with the prisoners.

Thrown through the barrier into this unforgiving prison, you find yourself with your back against the wall. To survive, you must navigate volatile alliances and endure until you can finally escape.
